Caffeine and Alcohol Intolerance

So I was drinking decaf tea for a while. And it still made me sick. There’s too much caffeine in decaf! Chocolate, I can still eat chocolate. I’d better, body!

I recently thought I could handle alcohol again. Nope. I mean, I can have one super-weak drink but that’s it.

I was on a roller coaster with what makes my stomach ill. ALL THE. TIME. I believe it’s GERD now but the pills only make it better, not go away. I may need something stronger.

If you can properly digest caffeine and/or alcohol (like most people), enjoy it. For me. ;)

I created this, Russell’s Tea: Tasting is Believing, design in Photoshop. It’s up for sale at The Coming Out Godless Project Store.
The idea came loosely from Russell’s Celestial Teapot. Then, I expanded upon it.
The shirt is available here.
The coaster(s) is/are available here.

Damn you, tea party for trying to hijack tea. I bet none of you even drink tea. Like most Americans, you (most likely) drink coffee.

I just found out that you can make stem tea. Here's how.

And just threw away a bunch of ‘em. (And took out the trash.) Eh, they’ll be another time, I’m sure. :)

Caffeine

I used to drink coffee. I used to intake caffeine. I still some of the latter but none of the former. I recall the first time I quite coffee. I was working as a Production Assistant at Nip/Tuck (season 2). The hours in the entertainment industry (not including overhead or corporate) are roughly 60 plus a week. Obviously, that does vary from type of show to type of position. But the higher you go up, the more you work. Seriously. Top producers don’t have a moment to breathe, generally speaking.

Caffeine, sugar, food, repeat. The amount of substances I needed to keep going was ridiculous. I realized this and tried to lessen caffeine intake. This on the heels of having to add extreme amounts of sugar and cream/creamer to make in drinkable, made me step back. I think I went without to prove I could but then took it back up.

Later on, I realized that caffeine might just not be for me. Alcohol barely is. Or at least large amounts of caffeine. I switched to tea. When I got that job at Turner, with more doable 40 hour weeks, that tea went from black to green. I didn’t need the same boost. Though I still drank 3 to 4 cups a day. I also don’t need to add much or anything to tea to make it drinkable. Maybe a teaspoon of raw sugar, if that.

After still having stomach issues and the inability to sleep well (though I was able to physically sleep), I decided to go without caffeine completely. Peppermint tea is supposed to help a lot due to the anesthesia-like properties. As I skeptic, I was weary but also noted the recent experiments I stumbled upon.

I’ve really grown attached to the peppermint tea so it works for me anyway. I occasionally indulge in white or green tea when I’ve have a really bad night. And have never left my friend chocolate behind. ;)

When I tell people that I don’t drink coffee or rarely caffeine, I get the same response. It’s almost funny. It’s almost word for word, too. Something along the lines of “I just need it to get me going”, as if s/he is in the minority of coffee-drinkers in America. LOL

I wonder if any of the Teabaggers

Has actually had a cup of tea? Putting all those teabags on those silly hats seems to be such a waste. I love tea, BTW. Yes, an American who drinks tea. And not coffee. We do exist.
