If this proposed shut down isn’t proof the GOP doesn’t care about you, I don’t know what is

glossylalia:

They don’t care if you get your paycheck. They don’t care if you get medical information from the CDC or the NIH. They don’t care if parks and museums close. They don’t care if you’re shut out of work until this is all over, just so they can get their way.

And if you didn’t know, “their way” wants to strip you of government run programs, money, and healthcare as well.

So all in all, they could give a fuck about you.

Maybe things in America would be better if the “Beast” that the GOP wanted to “starve” was the Military-Industrial Complex, rather than than the old, the poor and the civil service.

Lately Conservatives try to blame Progressives for slavery and other awful ideas

Conservatives are pissed. History is wrote by the winners. And those who always win are progressives, liberals, radicals, what ever you wish to call them at any time. You know, those who are not happy with the status quo. Those who dream of a place that’s fair and equal to all, instead of whitewashing and pretending. Instead of going along with vast injustice and cruelty. Conservatives always want to go back. Before women could vote or blacks had rights. Before homosexuals, bisexuals, pansexuals, asexuals, and transgenders spoke up and demanded the same freedoms everyone else takes for granted. Before atheists and non-Christians stood up and demanded this country be returned to it’s separation of church and state founding principles. Before there were so many Hispanics. These “goals” are bigoted. I can’t see it any other way.

Progressives wants betterment. They typically want to improve life for everyone. After an idea becomes passé by liberals, conservatives adopt it as the new status quo, as we fight for the next battle.

The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out the conservative adopts them. (Mark Twain)

Progressives write history books because we eventually win. Maybe we have to wait for a few generations to pass, but we eventually win. Then, conservatives try to declare it was their idea all along. It’s happening now, to even crazier degrees. Out-right lies. Conservatives say democrats wanted slavery. Overall, we know this is an ugly lie… when there are KKK ties to current republican and tea party politicians!

Progressives may be bigoted but it is rare. It is common for conservatives to be. I see it all the time. I understand the dynamic deeply. You can’t fool me with revisionist history. Just suck it up and move along. Say it’s in the past and it is what it is. Don’t attempt to resell the same old story, only flip-flopped. It won’t fly.

It is so grossly unfair. I can’t imagine my colleagues on the Republican side don’t want to give a tax cut to the middle class.
