Corporatism
God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.

Jesus on the Occupy Wall Street movement. Or not.
Dickbag from the Chicago Board of Trade Dumps McDonald’s Applications on #Occupychicago
Someone at the Chicago Board of Trade issued another message to the Occupy Chicago protesters by blanketing them with these McDonald’s job applications. The protesters are understandably offended by both the message and by the hundreds of pieces of new litter around them.
First the CBOT folks posted “We are the 1%” in their eighth floor windows a few weeks ago. This is the second time they tossed flyers down from their ivory tower, too. They tossed down “We Are the 1% Paying For This” on Oct. 21. They’ve perhaps moved the war to a second front by sending email spam to protesters
Yeah because anyone can get a job at McDonald’s, they’ll hire anyone who can fill out an application! Wait, what’s that?
McDonald’s Turns Away 938,000 out of A Million Applications on “National Hiring Day”
Yeahhh go fuck yourself CBOT.

I would just like to point out that I got a job due to McDonald’s “National Hiring Day” We had to do 9 hours of training over three consecutive days. After those three days were up and my training was completed, I was never put back on the schedule. I told the manager I needed hours and he told me to come in for a few shifts over the next week. I came in and worked my first shift of the week and was told I wasn’t supposed to be there by a different manager. He hadn’t put me on the scedule as he said he would, hoping I would just forget I was employed there.
The “National Hiring Day” was a hoax to show the American public that McDonald’s wanted to help us in our time of crisis, but instead all it gave me was false hope that I would have some sort of income over the summer before I started college.
Unsurprising.
Woooow.

Love this.
And it’s shit like this that I don’t really think people understand. While you’re supporting the gutting of food stamps, medicaid, and other social programs, you’re legitimately committing people to die.
I fear something like this. D:

There are more than 4 people unemployed for every open job.
Maybe “just get a job” isn’t that simple.
There aren’t jobs to get. Many of them have moved to other countries. It’s sad that there will be no jobs unless some changes are made.

After his Honorable Discharge from the US Army the only job my cousin Donald D could find was at Home Depot.
He could not afford the health insurance.
He got sick on a Friday. My uncle took him to a hospital emergency room. He was not admitted.
He returned to the ER on Saturday and Sunday. He was not admitted either time.
On Monday he died of viral meningitis.
He was 25 years old.
Home Depot made $856 million in profits that year.
Donald D was the 99%.
I find this one extraordinarily touching. T_T
