Yahoo bought Tumblr and now I’m less excited about using it. Yahoo only brings down things similar to when FOX bought MySpace. I could be wrong but I don’t see this in a positive light. I haven’t been using Tumblr much anyway. idk

When Yahoo bought Flickr, I wasn’t happy with it afterward. And eventually deleted my account.

As of now, I’m not going anywhere. I want to see what happens.

Most teachers are wonderful. Except for the two who told my parents and I that I’d never get accepted to community college. I was generally a B student. And in college (University of Miami), I was more of a B+/A student.

I actually remember getting a D on an essay in college, first semester ever. She gave me a chance to rewrite it with a handout that had basic writing rules. “You should have learned this in high school,” she said. I was writing like I was taught in high school. lol

For the few lousy teachers I had, there were so many great ones. Overall, I have a great respect for teachers.

Caffeine and Alcohol Intolerance

So I was drinking decaf tea for a while. And it still made me sick. There’s too much caffeine in decaf! Chocolate, I can still eat chocolate. I’d better, body!

I recently thought I could handle alcohol again. Nope. I mean, I can have one super-weak drink but that’s it.

I was on a roller coaster with what makes my stomach ill. ALL THE. TIME. I believe it’s GERD now but the pills only make it better, not go away. I may need something stronger.

If you can properly digest caffeine and/or alcohol (like most people), enjoy it. For me. ;)

My friend from high school (and before) just sent me our class of ‘99 high school photo. (I cropped around myself so I didn’t go around showing photos of other people who didn’t want to be shared.)

But, trust me, almost everyone is smiling. I can’t remember if this photo was taken mid-something else and I meant to smile—I have no recollection. They did take a bunch of shots. But this pretty much sums me in junior high and high school. Classic Rose!

Maybe I’m just perfecting my model glance?

In any case, as I have mentioned, my depression was really bad then. My parents laughed at me when I told them I wanted to see a psychiatrist or psychologist.

For the first time in more than four decades of polling on the issue, a majority of Americans favor legalizing the use of marijuana. A national survey finds that 52% say that the use of marijuana should be made legal while 45% say it should not.

Support for legalizing marijuana has risen 11 points since 2010. The change is even more dramatic since the late 1960s. A 1969 Gallup survey found that just 12% favored legalizing marijuana use, while 84% were opposed.

If I ever say anything that upsets anyone, please let me know. While some people say “ignorance is bliss,” I prefer to learn from any ill-informed or silly statements I may make. Just leave your comment in my ask box. However, I don’t allow anons because I’ve seen the terror it causes.

Although, I like free and open communication, something can be said for safe spaces. That’s why I like Tumblr. That’s why I also like Twitter. Different strokes for different moods.

BTW, if I say something unpleasant about bigots/racists/sexists/homophobes/biphobes/transphobes/prejudiced people or behavior, it does not count. ;p The only thing I hate is hate.

Time for a shameless self promotion!

Radful is the company Eric & I started last year. We do web design, development, graphic design, book cover design, business consulting, etc. We’ve even helped someone edit their video. I did go to film school, after all. ;)

Motivation Gets Me Down

I have a difficult time motivating myself. The sayings and stories sound great but… I don’t know. I have nothing.

This has been my entire life. Some call it “lazy” but when I do do something, I do it quickly and accurately (or ask questions/search Google to get as close as I can).

I can never get enough work but I hate networking. This is one of the reasons I left the entertainment industry. I’d like and need to make a bit more money, just get over this hump. I’m tired of always being stressed and worried. I’ve always suffered from anxiety and depression. This shit just makes it harder to handle.

I have one person I can always go to, my husband. I’m fortunate in that respect, though there are so few others I could turn to. And by “so few others” I really mean “no one,” or it feels that way. Every time I try to tell an ol’ friend about shitty family issues or anything else, it doesn’t feel like they care enough. But these are people I used to be closer with; it’s not like they tell me what’s going on in their lives (besides the basics).

Sometimes, I just need to get things out of me, in a public way. It makes me feel better.

But the motivation never comes. I try to make it happen but there are always things in the way. Go to the gym (or do some activity for exercise)? That would make me feel better. Yet if I had the extra cash, I’d have health insurance. It’s still not affordable. Fuck you, republican politicians.

Every time I hear a sob story about someone dying because they couldn’t afford treatment or surgery, it hits me really hard. I fear that will be me someday. I also feel for the family/friends of that someone.

These things, plus more (I’ve already vented about issues with my mother), continue to bring me down. It’s hard to motivate myself to do much of anything.
